YAMAHA

YAMAHA R6

Yamaha R6 is powered by a 599cc, four-cylinder engine producing 118.4 HP at 14,500 rpm and 61.7 Nm at 10,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It weighs 190kg and thus, a huge loss of torque and power is seen for just 10kg of weight reduction from Yamaha R1. Both bikes have high seat height and thus, riders with average built would struggle to get their feet planted all the time. Equipment on both bikes is almost identical. Yamaha R6 comes with a top speed of 262 kmph while high performance is seen through its 0-100 kmph sprint time of 3 seconds. Yamaha uses a fully digital instrument console for R6 while Yamaha R3 comes with semi-digital instrument console

Yamaha MT-10 2019

The Yamaha MT-10 features a fully digital instrument console which has been carried from the Yamaha R1. The console displays a digital tachometer and a clock on its top, displaying speed, distance and gear number in the middle. It displays all the possible modes of traction, ABS and other safety features on the same. The mighty MT-10 is expected with a liquid cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 4-valves 998cc engine producing 158 Bhp @ 11,500 rpm and 111 Nm @ 9000 rpm. The engine has been tuned to get linear low to mid-range torque for enhanced street performance and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch. The motorcycle would be an excellent option for those who are not so comfortable with faired motorcycles as a rider would get the same potential as an R1 with a relaxed driving as well as sitting experience

Yamaha NIKEN & NIKEN GT

Mechanically the 2019 Yamaha Niken GT is similar to the standard three-wheeled Niken. It is also based on the Yamaha MT-09 and has two 15-inch wheels with modified cycle parts which help it lean at corners. The wheels are connected to the frame with two separate pairs of inverted forks which allow the Niken GT to lean through corners just like a regular two-wheeler. It is powered by the same 847cc in-line three-cylinder engine which is seen in the MT-09. The engine develops 114 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 87.5 Nm of peak torque at 8500 rpm. The 2019 Yamaha Niken GT is equipped with a standard slip and assist clutch, quick shifter and three-mode traction control. It also gets cruise control which is effective from fourth gear and over the speed of 50 kmph.

KAWASAKI Ninja ZX-6R

The 2019 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is a 636cc, inline-four-cylinder motor. Kawasaki hasn’t shared India-centric specifications of the new Euro IV (BS-IV) compliant engine, but the international-spec powerplant churns out 128hp and 70.6Nm of torque. This should remain constant unless we get a different state of tune to account for our fuel quality – an issue the ZX-10R faced.

The motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch. Talking about electronic goodies, the new Ninja ZX-6R has been equipped with Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), two power modes, ABS and Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) (upshift only). The bike weighs 195kg and has a saddle height of 830mm.

TRIUMPH

TRIUMPH Daytona 765

Triumph Motorcycles has filed a brand new trademark for the Daytona name and it might just be for the 2019 Triumph Daytona 765. With Triumph supplying the new 765cc engine for the 2019 Moto2 season, the new Daytona would be the perfect bike to promote

As Triumph prepares to supply all of the 765c inline-three engines for the Moto2 series starting next season, the British bike manufacturer doesn’t really have a proper middleweight sports bike variant to promote in line with the Moto2 move. While it would look good for those who are interested in the naked Street Triple series, it would make more sense if they can bring the Daytona back by this year.
